Turner’s Arms

The junction of Shrigley Road, Ingersley Road, Church Street and Palmerston Street. Note buildings on the far corner of Church Street and Palmerston Street, part of what was known as 'the square' all now demolished and replaced by Shrigley Court retirement flats. At the left edge of the picture notice the archway - the room above has since been removed. Notice also that the bus turnround still had a field wall around it in those days.
