Oak Bank House
This shows the front door portico and steps of Oak Bank House. This house was built by John Brier, the one time owner of Oak Bank mill, overlooking the mill. The very fine stonework of the door surround was thought by Dr John Coope to have been the work of Kerridge sculptor Alfred Gatley. The house was demolished shortly after WW2. The young man is probably one of Charles Price’s lads. Price was the gardener who lived in the lodge cottage.
