Weslyan Chapel, Wellington Road
The present chapel is the third to be built on this site. It has the Manse beside it and the Sunday School, now Bollington Arts Centre, behind it. See Clarence Mill in the background – a view now blotted out by trees.

Palmerston Street Aqueduct
The finest structure on the Macclesfield Canal, the aqueduct carries the canal high over the town. It was built in 1829-31 together with the unique, all stone constructed, embankment. Notice the setts paving the street; these were only removed when the road was reconstructed in the early 2000s. Look closely at the left of the picture and you may see the ghostly image of a lady in a wide brimmed hat! The photographer wanted for soime unknown reason to remove this lady from the picture. Another has also been removed from the right side.

St Gregory’s Sermons
Two un-named girls posing in Chapel Street by its junction with Silver Street. In the background is the old St Gregory’s church, since demolished, and to the right is the old St Gregory’s school, now three cottages known as St Gregory’s Mews.
