Higher Mills and Church St
Postcard posted July 1924. Gives a good view over the town showing St John’s church, Oak Bank mill and house, Lowther Street school and Beeston quarries on the far hill. Higher mills are in the foreground.

Rock Bank Auxiliary Military Hospital
C.J. King lent Rock Bank in 1914 to be used as an auxiliary military hospital until 1919 or the end of the War. Rosina Oliver nursed there for 3.5 years, ending up as Quartermaster.
