By 1983, when the picture was taken, only the gas holder remained. Originally, from about 1905, gas was manufactured on the site. By 2000 the site was cleared and redeveloped with housing and is known as Spinners Way. The picture was taken in 1983 by Bollington Civic Society History Group.
