Born 1903 - 1969. Attended St John's School, worked at Oak Bank then Shrigley Dyers after the war. Was in 130 Company Pioneer Corps landed 2-3 days after D day near Caen then Holland Belgium and Berlin. Mentioned in despatches, was Knight of Order of Orange - Nassau (Dutch Decoration) received while fighting in Holland where he rescued a man from a mine field.
