Martha Stubbs, nee Lomas, daughter of George Lomas, timber merchant of Chapel en le Frith. She was born at Tunstead Farm c.1890. She later lived with an aunt at Hardy Green Cottages, Kettleshulme, until she moved in 1916. John Stubbs, who then farmed Burton's Farm, Saltersford, then Bay Tree Farm, Hedgerow, then Sowcar Farm from c.1932. Sowcar Farm has been farmed by the Stubbs family for many hundreds of years and is one of the oldest buildings in the area.
