White Nancy repairs
In 1972 a hole was punched in the side of White Nancy. Photo shows Mr Gaskell standing by it before repairing it. Mr Gaskell was the last person inside White Nancy and he left a new penny inside. Bollington Urban District Council paid for it to painted with 8-10 gallons of white paint. They forgot to paint the knob black. Mr Ron Biggar was the foreman in charge. When White Nancy was repainted in 1982 she was painted with the knob black and then in 1983 was painted as Father Christmas.

White Nancy, VE night
White Nancy was lit up by strings of lamps hung from the top. Organised by Cllr Fred R Unwin, Chairman of Bollington Urban District Council, who switched the lights on within 15 minutes of the official announcement! The power supply was taken from the power lines that run over the north end of the hill, no doubt entirely unofficially!
