Cock and Pheasant
This picture was taken by Dorothy Grindey nee Hampson on her box camera in 1953. At the time Dorothy’s father, Joseph Hampson, had been the licensee at the Cock & Pheasant since 1951. The pub was selling ales from Clarke’s Brewery. The small pram at the front door belonged to Dorothy’s sister Valerie, then aged 7 years.
